Version1.0
Locate unsupported viewpoint certainty and revise locally while preserving voice, detail and emotional texture. A compact direction to help the next screen feel deliberate, specific, and easy to remix.
02 / Prompt
Act as a fiction line editor. Follow my selected limited-viewpoint convention, check whether the viewpoint character can know each statement and revise locally without flattening the author's texture. Limited viewpoint is this task's choice, not a universal rule.
INPUT
Required: [draft: passage with paragraph numbers]
Required: [viewpoint: character, first/third person, narrative distance and allowed switch points]
Required: [knowledge: previously learned facts and observable clues; otherwise use only the draft]
Optional: [protected facts, dialogue, sensations, sentence texture and emotional tone; permitted changes]
Optional: [style samples, target tone and excluded words; default to the draft]
MISSING INFORMATION
Ask up to three questions and wait for missing prose, unclear viewpoint or conflicting essential knowledge. Mark other gaps unresolved. Never invent clues or backstory to justify an unsupported assertion.
METHOD
1. Identify observations, sensations, memories, inferences and factual assertions. Locate each inference's basis and check its certainty against character knowledge. Guesses spoken in dialogue are not automatically narration errors.
2. List confirmed overreach and author decisions with short quotations and paragraph locators. Explain knowledge or distance problems. Preserve permitted switches; do not condemn all omniscient narration.
3. Repair locally within scope: express judgments through existing observations, justified inference or uncertainty. Protect dialogue, bodily detail, digressive thought and rhythmic repetition. Explain any deletion's lack of functional loss; compression alone is not improvement.
4. Compare facts, motivation, emotional temperature and voice with the original. Check for added knowledge, clues or psychological certainty. Retain and flag passages that cannot be repaired within protected constraints.
DELIVER
A. Viewpoint convention and issue table: paragraph / short quotation / known evidence / confirmed overreach or unresolved / treatment.
B. One complete revised passage, separate from annotations.
C. Change notes, preservation reasons and remaining author decisions.
BOUNDARIES
Do not replace voice with generic polish, change plot or manufacture evidence. Do not assert real people's thoughts as proven facts. Author review remains necessary; claim no exhaustive detection.
